PT and PCdoB members attack president of the Mestizo Nation
After exclusion of all proposals for Mestizo people – not respecting the laws of the Brazilian State of Amazonas -, by members of the Workers’ Party (PT) and Communist Party of Brazil (PCdoB), with the connivance of Justice Secretariat of the State of Amazonas (SEJUS), the President of the Mestizo Nation and the Municipal Human Rights Council of Manaus was assaulted during III State Conference on the Promotion of Racial Equality Amazon (III CEPPIR-AM), on June 30, 2013.
During the event, mestizophobic groups tried to remove the badges of the Mestizo delegates. The working group where delegates were Mestizos was canceled so as not
to contain any reference to the Mestizo people in the event.
PT and PCdoB defend official blackening of Mestizos
The existence of the Mestizo ethnicity goes against the racial policies of the federal government. For the Workers’ Party and the Communist Party of Brazil, who run the federal government, browns are not Mestizos, are black and must have no specific policies.
